Ingredients

  • 1 pound Shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Spray bottle of oil
Bang Bang Sauce Ingredients
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce such as Sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Combine the milk, cornstarch, salt, pepper, hot sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and egg in a mixing bowl.
  2. Put the breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
  3. Dip the shrimp in the milk mixture, followed by the breadcrumb mixture, coating the entire shrimp. Try to only use one hand during the breading process so one stays clean and dry.
  4. Arrange the coated shrimp on a tray and put it in the refrigerator to chill for 15 minutes. Chilling will help keep the breading from falling off.
  5. Make Bang Bang Sauce: While the shrimp chills, mix the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, honey, and hot sauce in a small bowl. Whisk until everything is well combined.
  6. Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 390 degrees F.
  7. Spray the basket with a quick spray of oil. Then add the shrimp in a single layer and spray the top side with oil. Don't drench the pieces. They just need a small amount of oil. Keep them in a single layer and cook them in batches if necessary.
  8. Air fry at 390 F for 5 minutes on one side, flip the shrimp, and cook for another 5 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Don't use commercial cooking spray in the air fryer since it can damage the air fryer basket.
  • Use medium to large size shrimp.
