Basil Pesto Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups basil leaves lightly packed, fresh
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts toasted
  • 2-4 garlic minced cloves
  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the basil, parmesan, pine nuts, and garlic in a food processor or blender. Pulse until chopped.
  2. With the food processor/blender running, stream in the olive oil until everything is emulsified and combined.
  3. Taste, and season with salt and pepper as needed.

Notes

  • If you want a thicker pesto, use 1/3 cup of olive oil. For a thinner pesto, use up to 1/2 cup.
