Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar (organic for vegan-friendly)
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, water, and basil leaves in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat.
  2. Bring mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves into the water. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
  3. Pour the basil syrup through a sieve or strainer to remove the basil leaves. Store in the fridge for up to a week.
