Ingredients

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce plus extra for glazing
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds ground beef 80/20 mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine breadcrumbs, egg, milk, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Then, add the ground beef. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole dish, shaping it into a wide loaf.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  5. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread additional barbecue sauce over the top.
  6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  7. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
