Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
This delicious Beef Broccoli Stir Fry is an easy beef dinner that tastes like you ordered take out! And this recipe is done in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients
Beef Coating:
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch divided
- 2 tablespoons water divided
- 1/2 /2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 lb boneless round steak, cut into thin 3-inch strips (flank steak or sirloin steak can be used as well)
Stir Fry:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil divided
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- 1/2 /2 cup water
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1 small onion cut into wedges, or diced
- 1/3 /3 cup low sodium soy sauce (if gluten-free use aminos or gluten-free brand)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic (2 cloves)
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger (fresh ginger can be used as well)
- red pepper flakes (optional)
- hot cooked rice
Instructions
- For Beef Coating: In a large bowl, combine 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 tablespoons water and garlic powder until smooth.
- Add the beef and toss well to coat. Set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, stir-fry beef in 1 tablespoon oil until beef reaches desired doneness; Remove beef mixture from the pan.
- Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan. Add the sesame oil here too if you're using it. Add the broccoli and onion to the pan and stir fry for 4-5 minutes or until broccoli is done to desired tenderness.
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger and remaining 1 tablespoon cornstarch and remaining 1/2 cup of water until smooth; add the sauce and beef to the pan (and add red pepper flakes if desired).
- Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until sauce has thickened.Serve over white or brown rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Add additional soy sauce on top of servings if you want. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
