Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef back ribs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic minced, cloves
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp thyme dried
  • 1 tsp rosemary dried
  • 1 tsp salt sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • BBQ sauce optional for serving

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. First, preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prepare the beef back ribs by removing any excess fat and membrane from the bone side. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil and all seasonings to create a flavorful rub.
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the beef back ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  5. Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet or in a roasting pan, bone-side down.
  6. Cover the pan with aluminum foil, sealing it tightly. This will help keep the ribs moist during the cooking process.
  7. Bake the ribs for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  8. Then, remove the foil and check the ribs. They should be very tender and pull away from the bone easily.
  9. If you prefer a charred exterior, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce and broil for 3 to 5 minutes. This step is optional.
  10. Lastly, allow the beef back ribs to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Thaw frozen beef back ribs completely before cooking for even results.
  • Check doneness by their tenderness; ribs should easily pull away from the bone.
  • The optional broiling step adds a flavorful charred crust with BBQ sauce.
  • Customize the spice rub to your taste preferences.
  • Store leftover ribs in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
