Ingredients

Bulgogi
  • 800 g thinly sliced sirloin or tender prime beef cut
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 stalks green onion
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
Marinade
  • 6 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugat
  • 2 tbsp rice wine
  • 5 tbsp grated red apple gala, pink lady or fuji or use an asian pear
  • 1 tsp minced garlic 

Instructions

  1. Mix all marinade ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Pat the meat dry with paper towels to remove excess blood.
  3. Place the meat in the bowl with the marinade and mix well.
  4. Cover the bowl and marinate preferably overnight.
  5. Thinly slice the onions, carrots, and green onions.
  6. Preheat a wok or skillet over medium heat and add cooking oil.
  7. Sauté the sliced onions until they are soft and translucent
  8. Add the beef and cook until it starts to brown.
  9. Add the veggies and stir occasionally until everything is cooked through.
  10. Stir in the sesame seeds.
  11. Serve hot.
