Ingredients

  • 1 pound Shrimp peeled and deveined, large
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup light beer
  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  2. Pour in the beer and whisk until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
  4. Dip shrimp into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, and carefully place them in the hot oil.
  5. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Transfer fried shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the beer battered shrimp hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
