Beer Margaritas
Summer tastes better with a pitcher of these delightful and refreshing beer margaritas are made with Corona, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, agave, and a sugared (or salted) rim! Cheers to beer-garitas!
Ingredients
- 6 ounces tequila I recommend white/blanco tequila
- 6 ounces lime juice freshly squeezed
- 4 ounces triple sec
- 4 ounces agave syrup simple syrup may be substituted, or agave nectar
- 24 ounces Corona beer or other Mexican beer
- sugar for glassware rims if desired, or salt
Instructions
- Add the tequila*, lime juice, triple sec, and agave** to a large pitcher*** and stir until the agave has fully mixed.
- Pour in the beer and gently stir again.
- Serve in sugar or salt-rimmed glasses over ice.
- Recipe is intended for those for whom alcohol is legal and appropriate.
Notes
- *For a stronger drink, you can increase the tequila amount to 8 ounces.
- **For those who don’t like overly sweet drinks and may want to reduce the sweetness in a beer margarita, you can reduce the agave (or simple syrup if using) by half if desired.
- ***Rather than making a pitcher full of beer margaritas, you can make them by the glass.
- However, it’s worth noting you may “waste” some beer. If you open a bottle or can of beer and use half (6 ounces), you would then quarter all other amounts listed, i.e. 1.50 ounces of tequila rather than six. But you’ve still got the other half can or bottle of beer.
- Therefore, it would probably be easier to just halve the recipe so that you can use a normal 12-ounce size bottle or can of beer, and then halve all other amounts. This will make 2 large-ish beer margaritas and is my vote if you don’t need a pitcher.
