Belgian Waffles Recipe

Belgian Waffles with a touch of cinnamon, a scrumptious breakfast or brunch recipe that is super easy to make with just a few ingredients. These homemade waffles are nice and crispy on the outside, and perfectly fluffy on the inside. What a treat for kids and grown-ups too!

Ingredients

  • 200 g plain flour
  • 1 egg
  • 180 ml full-fat milk
  • 50 g butter
  • 30 g caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅓ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and allow it to cool.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the egg slightly, add the milk and butter and whisk well.
  3. Sift the flour and add it to a bowl together with the baking powder, vanilla extract, cinnamon, the milk mixture.
  4. Mix well to get a lump-free and sticky batter.
  5. Preheat the waffle maker and brush it with a bit of oil or butter.
  6. Depending on the waffle maker you use, you will need about a big tablespoon of batter per waffle.
  7. Leave too cook until the waffles are golden, 4-5 minutes per batch.
