Best Moist Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (375g)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup salted butter melted
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 4 large eggs beaten
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a large 9x13-inch rectangular baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Stir together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add in the vegetable oil, melted butter, honey, eggs, and milk, and stir until just combined.
  3. Pour the cornbread batter into the prepared baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, until the cornbread turns golden brown. Remove from oven and serve warm with butter and honey.

Notes

  • This recipe halves easily, which is perfect for an 8x8" pan for my family of 4.
