Ingredients
- 8 oz. dried hibiscus flowers , wonjo leaves
- 2 quarts water
- 10 fresh mint leaves
- ¼ teaspoon natural peppermint extract
- 1 cup sugar , more or less to taste
- 3 teaspoons lime juice , freshly squeezed
- Ice cubes , optional
Equipment
- Very fine mesh strainer
- Large saucepan with lid
Instructions
- Rinse the hibiscus leaves with clean water and place them in a large saucepan.
- Add the water and bring to a boil. Cover and cook over low to medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, add the mint leaves, cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes.
- Filter using a very fine mesh strainer.
- Add the sugar and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Let cool completely.
- Serve very cold, with or without ice cubes.
