This Blackberry Bourbon Smash combines muddled blackberries, fresh mint, and lemon juice with bourbon, simple syrup, and a splash of ginger beer, creating a refreshing cocktail perfect for any occasion. Garnish with additional blackberries and a mint sprig for a vibrant and aromatic DIY cocktail experience.
Ingredients
- 1 cup blackberry ~12-16 berries, fresh
- 1 lemon juiced
- 10 mint leaves
- 1 ½ oz simple syrup
- ¾ cup ice
- 4 oz bourbon
- 4 oz ginger beer
Instructions
- Add the blackberries (keep a few for garnish), mint leaves, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Muddle them until the blackberries are almost completely juiced and mint is crushed.
- Pour the ice and the bourbon into the cocktail shaker. *Note: if you prefer a stronger cocktail, add an additional ounce of bourbon. Shake vigorously. Also, strain the mixture if you prefer a smoother beverage.
