Ingredients

  • 1 cup blackberry ~12-16 berries, fresh
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 10 mint leaves
  • 1 ½ oz simple syrup
  • ¾ cup ice
  • 4 oz bourbon
  • 4 oz ginger beer

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add the blackberries (keep a few for garnish), mint leaves, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Muddle them until the blackberries are almost completely juiced and mint is crushed.
  2. Pour the ice and the bourbon into the cocktail shaker. *Note: if you prefer a stronger cocktail, add an additional ounce of bourbon. Shake vigorously. Also, strain the mixture if you prefer a smoother beverage.
  3. Fill a rocks glass with ice (I like to have premade large ice cubes on hand). Divide the cocktail into two glasses and top with desired amount of ginger beer. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a silicone mold to make large ice cubes and serve in a rocks glass.
