Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup wine
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cranberries if frozen, no need to thaw
  • 1 cup blueberries if frozen, no need to thaw
  • 2-3 sprigs thyme or 1 t dried
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Add wine and sugar to a medium saucepan and heat, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until thickened. (If unsure about thickness, take a spoonful out of the pan and put in refrigerator for 5 minutes to cool and test.)
  3. Discard thyme stems (if sprigs used) and bay leaf, then transfer sauce to covered heat safe container (e.g. Pyrex), . Cool before serving.
