Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 4 ounces tequila (Blanco or Reposado)
  • 1 1/2 ounces agave nectar
  • 2 ounces orange liqueur
  • Kosher salt and lime zest for rimming the glass

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Rub the rim of two glasses with a lime wedge. Swirl the rims through a small pile of kosher or sea salt and lime zest. Add ice cubes to the glasses.
  2. In a cocktail shaker muddle the blueberries and lime juice until the blueberries are pulverized. Add the tequila, agave nectar, orange liqueur, and a handful of ice to the shaker.
  3. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds, and then strain into the prepared glasses.
  4. Garnish with fresh blueberries.

Notes

  • When it comes to tequila, you have lots of different options at just about any price point. Whether you choose to use tequila blanco, reposado, or even smoky mezcal, make sure you opt to use a brand that promises 100% pure agave. Anything else will not only taste sub-par, it’ll also give you a heck of a hangover.
  • Feel free to swap in frozen blueberries if needed. Give them 5-10 minutes to defrost at room temperature to make muddling a little easier.
