A Spanish bocadillo (bocata) is a sandwich filled with various ingredients. The version with Serrano ham is called serranito, typical of Andalusia.

Ingredients
- 2 pork loin steaks
- 1 long green bell pepper , bull’s horn type
- 2 lices Serrano ham
- ½ baguette (or ½ Viennese bread)
- ½ tomato , thinly sliced
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- mayonnaise , optional
- salt
- Fries
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat ½ cup (150ml) extra-virgin olive oil over medium heat.
- Make a few holes in the bell pepper with a toothpick and place it in the hot oil.
- Fry it all over until very tender and the skin is blistered and black.
- Remove it from the oil and place it on a cutting board.
- Using a fork and knife, remove the bell pepper's blistered skin, stem and seeds.
- Cut it in half lengthwise. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, after throwing out most of the olive oil (keep very little), cook the 2 pork loin steaks until golden brown. Salt them at the end of cooking.
- Cut the bread in half lengthwise.
- Spread mayonnaise on both pieces.
- Place the tomato slices in the sandwich.
- Place the loin steaks, the green bell pepper on top and finish with the Serrano ham.
- Serve immediately with French fries.
