Ingredients

  • 450 grams butter softened (2 cups)
  • 200 grams brown sugar 1 cup
  • 480 grams all purpose flour 4 cups

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar together.
  2. Add the flour and mix well.
  3. Dust some flour on a working surface and knead for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Roll the shortbread dough to 1/2 inch in thickness.
  5. Cut into 3-inch by 1-inch strips. Place on lined baking pan about 1 inch apart.
  6. Prick the top of the cookie dough with a fork.
  7. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until cookies is lightly browned.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle some sugar over the top.
