Buffalo Frito Chili Pie

Frito Chili Pie is given a spicy kick with the addition of buffalo sauce, green chilies and spices in this delicious twist on a classic recipe, easy to make in only 20 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup red onion diced
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 oz can diced green chilies
  • 15 oz can chili beans
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 .75 oz bag Fritos corn chips
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  1. Add the olive oil to a large skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Add the onions, cook 3-5 minutes, then add the garlic and ground beef.
  3. Cook until the beef is browned, then drain any grease from the skillet.
  4. Add the green chilies, chili beans, buffalo sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, ground cumin and red pepper flakes.
  5. Stir to combine and cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Divide the fritos between 4 plates or bowls, top with the buffalo chili, then the shredded cheddar cheese.
