Notes
- Nutrition information is an estimate only and will vary based on exact ingredients used and serving size.
- Prep Tips:
- Drying Time - Be sure to make sure that your snack mix is completely dry before storing. If it is still damp at all, it can cause condensation or make the cereal turn soggy.
- Tools - We love these silicone baking mats because you can wash and re-use them over and over again. Because they’re non-stick, you don’t need any non-stick spray – the snack mix just slides right off the mats! However, you can also use parchment paper.
- Melting Chocolate - Instead of microwaving, you can also melt the white chocolate in a double boiler over medium heat OR by making your own double-boiler with a saucepan of water and a metal bowl on top.
- Chocolate Chips vs. Melting Wafers - If you're using white chocolate chips, you may need to add a Tablespoon of shortening or coconut oil while you're melting it. This will allow it to melt smoothly. If you're using white chocolate melting wafers, you can skip the shortening.
- Variations - For the pretzels, you can use any type of mini pretzel: squares, twists, etc. The cereal can also be any combination that you like; I find that Chex and Honey Nut cheerios both work very well. Feel free to use your own Easter candy in this recipe! Mini marshmallows, candy eggs, Reese's Pieces, etc. So many ways to mix it up!
