Easy Butter Burger recipe for the most indulgent burgers ever with grated butter in the meat patties, American cheese, and caramelized onions.

Ingredients

Burger Patties:
  • 1 pound ground beef , (85/15)
  • 4 tablespoons butter frozen, unsalted
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper coarse ground
Toppings:
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 1 yellow onion , diced
  • 4 lices American cheese
To Finish:
  • 1/3 cup butter , softened
  • 4 large Hamburger Bun
  • 8 pickle chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high setting.
  2. In a large bowl add the beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Grate the frozen butter, then add it to the meat mixture.
  4. Mix the meat mixture gently with a wooden spoon.
  5. Shape into patties larger than the buns (by 1 inch).
  6. Press down on the middle of the patty with your thumb to make an indentation.
  7. Freeze the patties for 20 minutes.
  8. Add your onions to a large skillet with butter on medium heat.
  9. Cook for 7-8 minutes until they are just starting to caramelize.
  10. Remove the onions from the pan and set aside.
  11. Add beef patties to the grill and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side.
  12. Top with American cheese and cook for 15 seconds until cheese begins to melt.
  13. Spread buns with butter and toast.
  14. Add pickles, beef patty with cheese, onions and finally the bun tops.
