  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (see note 2)

Notes

  • Milk: To make dairy-free buttermilk, substitute an equal amount of almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, or soy milk.
  • Lemon juice: Or substitute lime juice, white vinegar, or apple cider vinegar.
