Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 (12-ounce) beer
  • ½ cup butter unsalted, melted

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together 3 cups all-purpose flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt.
  3. Add ¼ cup brown sugar, ¼ cup white sugar, and 1 (12-ounce) can beer. Mix together until it forms a dough.
  4. Evenly spread the dough into the prepared pan. Pour ½ cup unsalted melted butter on top of the dough.
  5. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until it is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes

  • The alcohol content from the beer fully evaporates during the baking process.
  • Use a 12-ounce beer of your choice; lighter or maltier beers will affect the flavor.
  • Ensure the loaf pan is well greased to prevent sticking and aid even browning.
  • Check doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center; it should come out clean when fully baked.
