Buttery Beer Bread
Buttery Beer Bread is a moist, dense bread combining all-purpose flour, two types of sugar, and beer as a leavening agent. Melted butter is poured over the dough before baking, forming a rich, buttery crust. This bread has a golden brown exterior and soft interior, suitable as a side or snack.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 (12-ounce) beer
- ½ cup butter unsalted, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, sift together 3 cups all-purpose flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt.
- Add ¼ cup brown sugar, ¼ cup white sugar, and 1 (12-ounce) can beer. Mix together until it forms a dough.
- Evenly spread the dough into the prepared pan. Pour ½ cup unsalted melted butter on top of the dough.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes or until it is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Notes
- The alcohol content from the beer fully evaporates during the baking process.
- Use a 12-ounce beer of your choice; lighter or maltier beers will affect the flavor.
- Ensure the loaf pan is well greased to prevent sticking and aid even browning.
- Check doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center; it should come out clean when fully baked.
