Ingredients

  • 8 ounces egg noodles wide
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 1 yellow onion thinly sliced, large
  • 1/2 cabbage cored and sliced into strips, green, whole head
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. While the noodles are cooking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they become translucent and start to caramelize, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet with the onions. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and begins to brown, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Toss the cooked noodles with the sautéed cabbage and onions. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Serve warm.
