Cabbage and Noodles
Noodles make everything better, especially cooked cabbage! Simply seasoned, this dish shows that sometimes less is more!
Ingredients
- 8 ounces egg noodles wide
- 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
- 1 yellow onion thinly sliced, large
- 1/2 cabbage cored and sliced into strips, green, whole head
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- While the noodles are cooking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they become translucent and start to caramelize, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet with the onions. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and begins to brown, about 10-12 minutes.
- Toss the cooked noodles with the sautéed cabbage and onions. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Serve warm.
