Cabbage and Noodles Recipe

This quick and easy Cabbage and Noodles recipe features smokey sausage, tender egg noodles, and crisp-tender cabbage. It’s a delicious combination of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces your favorite noodles uncooked, if you use fresh uncooked noodles, you’ll need about 10 ounces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • 12 ounces sausage sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 1/4 head cabbage cut into large pieces
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic 
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Cook the noodles

  1. Cook the noodles according to the directions on the package. Drain in a colander and set aside.
Cook the sausage
  1. In a large saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Cook the sausage until lightly browned. Remove to a plate and set aside.
Cook the cabbage and other vegetables
  1. In a large skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter. Once the butter is melted. Add onions and bell pepper. Cook for about 1 minute.
  2. Add the cabbage and garlic. Cover with the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Remove the lid, and cook for another 5-10 minutes until the cabbage is crisp and tender.
Mix everything and add the seasoning
  1. Add the cooked noodles, sausage, soy sauce, and salt & pepper to taste. Cook for about 1-2 minutes or until everything is combined well.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy!
