Candied Pecans

These Candied Pecans have a delicious crunchy shell and a sweet caramelized pecan flavor with a dash of cinnamon. They’re the perfect snack and so delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 egg large, white
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, add in the sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until everything is incorporated.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add in the egg white, water, and vanilla. Whisk until the mixture becomes very frothy. It will probably take 3-4 minutes of whisking.
  4. Add the pecans into the egg white mixture and mix until the pecans are evenly coated.
  5. Add half of the sugar mixture into the pecans and mix until the pecans are all coated.
  6. Once the pecans are coated, add in the rest of the sugar and give it a good stir.
  7. Place the pecans on the baking sheet. Make sure they are all spread out.
  8. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes. Flip the pecans every 15 minutes so they don’t burn.
