Ingredients

  • 3 pounds sweet potato peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch slices
  • 1/2 cup butter unsalted
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the sweet potatoes slices in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Melt the butter over medium heat in a saucepan. Stir in the brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined. Add the orange juice. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the syrup mixture over the sweet potatoes, making sure they are evenly coated.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil, stir gently, and continue baking uncovered for another 25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and syrupy.
