Ingredients

  • 2 boxes Vanilla Instant Pudding and & Pie Filling Boxes 5.1 oz boxes
  • 6 cups cold milk
  • Orange food coloring
  • 8 oz Cool Whip thawed
  • candy corn for decoration
  • Orange and yellow colored sugars for decoration

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Combine both packages of pudding and milk in a large bowl. Make according to the package directions for pudding (not pie filing).
  2. Divide pudding so 1/3 is in one bowl and 2/3 is in the other bowl.
  3. Add five drops of food coloring to the bowl with 2/3 of the pudding, one drop at a time and stirring in between each drop. Stop adding drops once you reach your desired color.
  4. Fill ten plastic cups 1/3 full with vanilla pudding. Then add about double that amount of the orange pudding on top of the yellow vanilla pudding so you have 1/3 yellow and 2/3 orange. Make sure to leave at least a little space on top for Cool Whip.
  5. Top each cup with Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream.
  6. Decorate with candy corn, colored sugars, or any other edible decorations.

Notes

  • Make the first two layers ahead of time then add the Cool Whip or whipped cream right before serving to keep it as a fresh as possible.
  • Keep the decorations to just colored sugar and maybe one piece of candy corn if you pipe on the Cool Whip. Adding too many decorations will defeat the purpose of the pretty piped frosting.
  • Store pudding cups in the fridge until ready to serve. These are best served chilled although they’d be fine for a couple of hours while serving at a party.
  • Top extra pudding cups with plastic wrap and store in the fridge. I like to put them in muffin tins and put in the refrigerator so they don’t accidentally get knocked over.
