Caprese Bruschetta
The fresh flavors from this Caprese Bruschetta provide such a delicious appetizer. Crispy bread, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and a tangy balsamic glaze pair perfectly. It’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser for any special occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 baguette sliced Into 1.5-2 inch pieces, large
- 16 ounces fresh mozzarella sliced
- 1 ½ cups diced tomatoes
- 3 Tablespoons basil chopped, fresh
- 2 shallot minced
- 2 garlic minced, cloves
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 Tablespoons balsamic glaze
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced baguette pieces onto a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the diced tomatoes, basil, shallots, garlic, olive oil, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Place 2 mozzarella slices onto each baguette piece. Bake the baguette pieces in the oven for 5 minutes, or until the mozzarella has melted and the bread is toasty.
- Remove the baguette pieces from the oven and top each with a heaping spoonful of the tomato mixture.
- Drizzle the balsamic glaze over top and enjoy!
Notes
- This caprese bruschetta is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven when the bread is still warm and crispy.
- To enhance the flavors, you can brush the baguette slices with olive oil before toasting them in the oven.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of balsamic glaze according to your taste preference.
- Can I use dried basil instead of fresh basil?
- Fresh basil contributes a vibrant flavor to this dish. However, if you don’t have fresh basil on hand, you can substitute with dried basil. Use about 1 teaspoon of dried basil for this recipe.
