- 3 large tomatoes ripe heirloom, sliced into 1/4" thick rounds
- 12 oz mozzarella ball sliced into 1/4" thick rounds
- 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
- Balsamic vinegar or Balsamic glaze for drizzling
Instructions
- Arrange sliced tomatoes and sliced mozzarella on a large plate so that they overlap.
- Tuck the basil leaves in between the layers of tomatoes and Mozzarella, using as much or as little as you'd like. Then, sprinkle a bit of kosher salt and black pepper on top.
- To finish the caprese, drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top, making sure each slice receives a drizzle. Serve immediately.
Cup of Yum
Notes
- We love balsamic glaze for caprese, as it is much thicker than balsamic vinegar, with a sweeter profile and richer flavor.
