Caprese Skewers with Balsamic Drizzle

Ingredients

Balsamic Reduction
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
Skewer Ingredients
  • 12 cherry tomato
  • 12 bocconcini
  • 12 basil small, fresh leaves
  • black pepper
  • salt
  • Toothpicks thick

Instructions

Balsamic Reduction
    Cup of Yum
  1. Add the balsamic vinegar and honey/syrup to a small pot. Bring it to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally until the sauce is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  2. Pour it into a small bowl and let it cool.
Caprese Skewers
  1. Take a toothpick and thread a cheese ball onto it, followed by a basil leaf and then a tomato. ( the order doesn't really matter, but the basil should be in the middle.)
  2. Place on a platter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then drizzle with the balsamic reduction.
  3. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can add more tomatoes and cheese to skewers, play around with the amounts!
