Ingredients

  • 6 Granny Smith apples sliced
Caramel Sauce:
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
Topping:
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3/4 cup plain greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Caramel Sauce:

  1. Put all the ingredients of the caramel sauce in a pot over medium heat.
  2. Stir until the sauce is well combined and starts bubbling.
  3. Let the sauce cook for 3 minutes after it starts bubbling.
Topping:
  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl with a spoon until the dough comes together. It will be somehow sticky. That's how it should be.
Caramel Apple Cobbler:
  1. Pour half of the caramel sauce in a baking dish. (Ceramic or Pyrex will work)
  2. Place the apple slices on the caramel.
  3. Pour the rest of the sauce.
  4. Using a spoon, cover the apples with the topping.
  5. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until the topping is brown at some spots and the sauce is bubbly.

Notes

  • You can use any kind of apples for this apple cobbler recipe. I prefer honey crisp and granny smith.
  • You can serve apple cobbler warm or at room temperature.
  • Keep the leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to three days.
  • For the topping you can also use store bought refrigerated biscuits.
