Challah French Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 8 lices challah bread , sliced 1" thick
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the egg, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and sugar in a large bowl.
  2. Dip the challah bread in the custard, both sides and let milk soak for 15 seconds then remove and let drip for 5 seconds before adding to pan.
  3. Add the butter to a heavy bottomed skillet over medium heat before adding the bread in and cooking until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Serve with maple syrup and berries.
