Cheese Stuffed Italian Sausage
These Cheese Stuffed Italian Sausages are bursting with rich, gooey cheese and nestled in a flavorful herb tomato sauce. It’s a delicious classic Italian dish your whole family will love.
Ingredients
- 5 Italian sausage uncooked, links
- 5 mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1 cup marinara sauce keto
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 385°F.
- Take each link of Italian sausage and slice them down the center. Do not cut all the way through to the bottoms and make sure to keep the ends in tact.
- Place the mozzarella sticks inside each sausage link, nestling it inside, while leaving a small amount of the cheese peaking through. As they bake, the sausages will open up more and the cheese will be exposed, but won’t completely ooze out all over the pan.
- In a 9 x 9 baking dish sprayed with nonstick spray, spread most of the marinara sauce on the bottom.
- Place the sausages on top of the marinara sauce and bake uncovered for 40 minutes or until they reach a temperature of at least 160°F when checked with an instant read thermometer.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving with the remaining marinara sauce over the tops.
