Cheesy Onion Bread
This fast and easy cheesy onion bread is a no yeast quick bread that is a fantastic side dish for soups, chilis and stews.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons green onion minced
- 3 tablespoons dried onion minced
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup butter melted, salted, cooled
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese grated, aged, white
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a standard loaf pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, onions, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt.
- Whisk together the milk, egg and butter until completely combined.
- Stir into the dry mixture until just combined, then add in the cheese.
- Turn out the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until a toothpick or cake tester inserted comes out clean. Remove from the pan and place on a baking rack to cool slightly. This is best served warm.
