Ingredients

  • 2 pounds hash browns thawed, frozen shredded
  • 1/2 cup butter melted, unsalted
  • 1 .5-ounce can cream of chicken soup condensed
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the thawed hash browns, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chopped onion, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Transfer the hash brown mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the cheese is golden brown.
  6. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
