Chicken Afritada sa Gata

Filipino chicken stew recipe wherein chicken is stewed in tomato sauce and coconut milk.

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. chicken sliced into serving pieces
  • 40 grams Knorr Ginataang Gulay Recipe Mix
  • 1 Knorr Chicken Cube
  • 3 potatoes
  • 4 carrots
  • 3 bell peppers
  • ¾ cup green peas
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 8 hotdogs
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Saute garlic and onion.
  2. Add the chicken. Saute until it turns light brown in color.
  3. Add tomato sauce, hotdogs, and water. Let it boil.
  4. Combine Knorrr Ginataang Gulay Recipe Mix with 2 cups water. Mix well and then pour it into the pan. Cover and cook for 45 minutes using low heat.
  5. Add Knorr Chicken Cube, potatoes, and carrots. Cook for 8 minutes.
  6. Add the green peas and bell peppers. Cook for 3 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and ground black pepper.
  8. Serve with rice. Share and enjoy!
