Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

Spicy Dipping Sauce:
  • 1/8 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce low-sodium
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Lettuce Wrap Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup yellow onion minced, or white onion
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts drained (4 ounce can, diced
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ginger grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce reduced-sodium
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 Boston lettuce or iceberg lettuce, whole head
  • 3 tablespoons green onions chopped

Instructions

  1. To a bowl add the dipping sauce ingredients. Stir until combined. Place the sauce in the fridge.
  2. To a large skillet over medium heat add the chicken, onion, and oil. Stir for 3 minutes.
  3. Add the water chestnuts, peppers, garlic cloves, and ginger to the skillet and stir for an additional 4-6 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the peppers are just a bit soft.
  4. To the saute pan add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, peanut butter, oyster sauce, white pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir for 3-5 minutes or until the sauce has reduced.
  5. Remove from the heat.
  6. Serve the chicken mixture into your lettuce wraps. I like to double or even triple the lettuce so you have a thicker wrap.
  7. Top with green onions.
  8. Serve with the spicy dipping sauce.
