Chicken Lettuce Wraps
With ingredients like soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and bell peppers, these Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps are sweet and tangy and so easy to make. Serve with the spicy dipping sauce to take them to the next level!
Ingredients
Spicy Dipping Sauce:
- 1/8 cup chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce low-sodium
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Lettuce Wrap Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/4 cup yellow onion minced, or white onion
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 1/2 cup water chestnuts drained (4 ounce can, diced
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons ginger grated
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce reduced-sodium
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon oyster sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 Boston lettuce or iceberg lettuce, whole head
- 3 tablespoons green onions chopped
Instructions
- To a bowl add the dipping sauce ingredients. Stir until combined. Place the sauce in the fridge.
- To a large skillet over medium heat add the chicken, onion, and oil. Stir for 3 minutes.
- Add the water chestnuts, peppers, garlic cloves, and ginger to the skillet and stir for an additional 4-6 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the peppers are just a bit soft.
- To the saute pan add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, peanut butter, oyster sauce, white pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir for 3-5 minutes or until the sauce has reduced.
- Remove from the heat.
- Serve the chicken mixture into your lettuce wraps. I like to double or even triple the lettuce so you have a thicker wrap.
- Top with green onions.
- Serve with the spicy dipping sauce.
