Chicken Parmesan Pasta
Chicken Parmesan Pasta combines ground chicken cooked with aromatic spices, onions, and garlic into a rich marinara sauce, then mixed with spaghetti and topped with cubes of mozzarella, shaved Parmesan, and buttery crushed croutons. Baked briefly, the dish develops a bubbly, cheesy crust with a flavorful, moist pasta interior. This casserole-style dish blends hearty meat flavors with creamy cheese and textured topping.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper coarse ground
- 1/2 onion yellow, diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon basil dried
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano dried
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 8 ounces spaghetti cooked 2 minutes shy of directions, thin
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese shaved
- 1 cup croutons crushed finely, butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- In a large skillet add the olive oil, on medium high heat and add in the ground chicken, salt, pepper, onions and garlic breaking the mixture apart while cooking for 5-6 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked through.
- Add in the basil, oregano, marinara sauce and mix well before adding in the pasta and tossing to coat the pasta with the chicken mixture.
- Dot the top of the pasta with the cubes of mozzarella, most of the parmesan cheese and the croutons and bake the dish for 20-25 minutes.
- Garnish with remaining Parmesan and additional crouton crumbs if desired.
