Chili Seasoning

This chili seasoning is a mix of different spices that is used to flavor homemade chili, as well as other Tex-Mex style recipes. Homemade spice blends are easy to make and taste so much better than the store bought versions!

  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 4 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 4 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Stir to combine.
  2. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in a cool dark place for up to 6 months. Use 2 tablespoons per pound of meat.

Notes

  • This chili seasoning will stay fresh for up to 6 months when stored in a cool, dark place.
  • I recommend using 2 tablespoons of seasoning per pound of meat in your chili. This recipe makes approximately 1/2 cup of seasoning, so enough for 4 pounds of meat.
