Chinese Fried Rice (炒飯)

Chinese Fried Rice is a versatile dish featuring cooked rice stir-fried with diced onion, mixed vegetables, eggs, and optional protein such as BBQ pork, shrimp, chicken, or tofu. The dish is seasoned with soy sauce, white pepper, and toasted sesame oil, creating a savory and satisfying combination. Using cooled, day-old rice helps achieve the signature texture by preventing clumping, and the eggs are cooked within the wok to blend with the rice and ingredients. This preparation yields a balanced mix of tender and slightly crisp textures with a well-rounded savory flavor.
