Chinese Garlic Sauce
Chinese Garlic Sauce is a savory, thickened sauce made from light and dark soy sauces, rice vinegar, vegetarian oyster sauce, sugar, vegetable stock, garlic, ginger, and green chili. The sauce achieves a balance of salty, tangy, and slightly spicy flavors, with a thick glossy texture achieved through cornstarch thickening. It is typically prepared by cooking the aromatics briefly and then simmering the sauce until thickened, making it an ideal addition to stir-fries or as a dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 5 tablespoon soy sauce light
- 3 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 3 tablespoon vegetarian oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ½ cup vegetable stock or water
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 thumb-size piece ginger fresh
- 1 green chilli
- 2 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions

- Set aside and let it cool for a few minutes before you store it, or add to your favorite stir-fry.
