Ingredients
- 1 cup butter unsalted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 3 cups self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
- 6 peppermint candy canes crushed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
- Beat together butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and peppermint extract, mix well.
- Whisk salt into flour in a separate bowl, and then add to butter mixture. Mix well and stir in chocolate chips.
- With small cookie scoop place dough on prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle top of cookies with peppermint candy (use your fingers to make the topping stick to the dough). Bake for 10-13 minutes or until cookies are light brown. Let cool for a couple of minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
