Chocolate Chip Pound Cake
This Chocolate Chip Pound Cake features a moist, dense crumb made from creamed butter and sugar combined with eggs, vanilla, and whole milk. Mini semi-sweet chocolate chips are folded in to distribute sweetness and texture throughout. Baked in a loaf pan, this cake offers a classic pound cake richness with bursts of chocolate in every slice, suitable for dessert or snacks.
Ingredients
- 12 tablespoons butter unsalted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 4 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk whole
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips mini, semi-sweet
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and flour and butter an 8x4 inch loaf pan.
- To a stand mixer add the butter and sugar with the paddle attachment and cream together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the vanilla, eggs and milk until fully combined.
- Add in the flour, baking powder and salt until just combined then fold in most of the chocolate chips (reserve a handful), pour into the loaf pan and sprinkle over the remaining chips and bake for 55-60 minutes.
Notes
- Use unsalted butter and cream it well with sugar to achieve a tender crumb.
- Reserve some chocolate chips to sprinkle on top for a visually appealing finish.
- Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
