Chocolate Chip Waffles Recipe
Start your day off with a delicious treat—homemade chocolate chip waffles! This easy recipe will satisfy your sweet tooth and give you the energy to tackle the day ahead.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 ¾ cups almond milk
- ½ cup avocado oil
- 1 egg large
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- cooking spray for waffle iron
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate mixing bowl, stir together the milk, oil, egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
- Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, then allow the batter to rest while you preheat the waffle maker.
- Preheat your waffle maker according to manufacturer instructions, then spray with cooking spray. Add enough batter to fill the wells of the waffle maker, then cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the waffle is golden brown.
- Serve waffles with your favorite toppings!
Notes
- Leftovers will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days and in the freezer for up to 3 months!
- You can also use regular chocolate chips if desired!
