Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Assorted dippers such as berries, bananas, pound cake, pretzels and cookies

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Heat the heavy cream in a pan over medium heat until hot, there should be bubbles around the sides of the pan. Do not boil.
  2. Add the chocolate to the pan. Turn off the heat. Whisk until completely smooth.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract. Serve immediately with dippers.

Notes

  • It's best to serve your fondue immediately so that it doesn't harden up.
  • You can use a fondue pot if you have one, a crockpot on low or simply use a small oven safe container with a tea light candle lit underneath it to provide a little heat to keep the chocolate liquid.
  • I recommend using chopped chocolate bars rather than chocolate chips for this recipe.
