Chocolate Hazelnut Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients

  • 15 oz hazelnuts finely chopped
  • 3 oz dark chocolate finely chopped
  • 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 egg room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup confectioners sugar

  1. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate until smooth.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugar.
  4. Add 1 egg and melted chocolate. Beat until well combined.
  5. Add milk and vanilla, beat until incorporate.
  6. Add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Stir in chopped nuts.
  8. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge minimum 3 hours or overnight.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  10. Roll the dough into balls and then coat generously with powdered sugar.
  11. Place on the baking sheet at least 2 inches apart.
  12. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
