Chocolate Lover's Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate Lover's Chocolate Chip Cookies combine multiple kinds of chocolate – chunks, chips, and grated – within a soft dough that bakes to cookies with slightly golden edges and a tender center. These cookies are enriched by brown and granulated sugars and a touch of vanilla, accented by a sprinkle of flaky sea salt on top. The combination of textures and chocolate varieties creates a layered chocolate experience in each bite, suitable for sharing or enjoying with a glass of milk or coffee.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt sea salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 egg large
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract pure
- 1 1/4 cups chocolate chunks
- 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup chocolate grated
- sea salt for sprinkling on cookies, flaky
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with a Silpat baking mat or parchment paper and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sea salt. Set aside.
- Using a stand mixer (or hand mixer), cream butter and sugars together for about 1 minute. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
- Turn the mixer off and add the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Don't over mix. Stir in the chocolate chunks, chocolate chips, and grated chocolate.
- Form the cookie dough into balls, about 2 tablespoons of dough. Place on prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden brown. Don't over bake. Remove from oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a wire cooling rack and cool completely.
Notes
- Grate chocolate using a cheese grater or finely chop with a sharp knife for even distribution in the cookie dough.
- Use semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate according to your preference without adjusting the recipe.
- Store baked cookies in an airtight container for 3-4 days at room temperature or freeze up to 3 months to maintain freshness.
