Ingredients

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla, whisk to combine.
  3. Add chocolate chips, stir to combine.
  4. Evenly divide the cake into two 8 to 12-ounce mugs.
  5. Cook one mug at a time on the microwave on high power for 60 seconds. Check the cake to see if it sets in the center, if not microwave for 15 to 30 more seconds.
  6. Serve mug cakes immediately while still warm.

Notes

  • Don’t fill more than halfway up the cup.
  • Makes ¾ cup batter
