Ingredients

Peanut Butter Batter:
  • ¾ cup + 2 tbsp flour
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 egg large
  • ½ cup peanut butter creamy
Chocolate Batter:
  • ¾ cup + 2 tbsp flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips (for sprinkling on top of batter right before baking)

Instructions

Peanut Butter Batter:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  2. Make the peanut butter batter by combining the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl; stir until mixed well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and peanut butter; whisk very well until creamy and smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix with a rubber spatula until just combined. Set aside.
Chocolate Batter:
  1. Make the chocolate batter by combining the flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl; stir until mixed well.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the sour cream, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract together; whisk very well until creamy and smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix with a rubber spatula until just combined.
  4. Pour the chocolate batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth it out with a rubber spatula.
  5. Pour the peanut butter batter on top of the chocolate batter.
  6. Use a table knife to gently swirl the two batters together.
  7. Sprinkle the top with chocolate chips right before baking.
  8. Place into the oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  10. Slice and serve. Enjoy.
