Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ¾ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. Sift together flour, cocoa, salt, and baking soda.
  3. Create a well in the dry ingredients and add the olive oil, vinegar, vanilla, and water.
  4. Whisk until combined.
  5. Pour into a greased 9x13 baking pan.
  6. Dot the surface with the peanut butter. Swirl in the peanut butter.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

  • Olive oil should be used in this recipe, other oils may be substituted but they will change the flavor and texture of the cake.
